정치인과 기저귀
(POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS)
One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut.
( 어느 날 꽃장수가 이발소에 왔습니다. )
After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you ,I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop.
(이발을 하고는 얼마냐고 물었지요.
이발사는 이번 주는 마을을 위해 자선봉사를 하고 있어 돈을 안 받겠다고
했지요.꽃장수는 즐거운 맘으로 이발소를 떠났어요.)
When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
(다음 날 아침 이발사가 출근하니
꽃다발과 감사 카드가 꽂혀 있었지요.)
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot
accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week.' The cop was happy and left the shop.
(다음 날에는 경찰관이 왔어요.
이발사는 또 이번 주는 마을을 위해 자선봉사를 하고 있어 돈을 안 받겠다고했지요.경찰관은 즐거운 맘으로 이발소를 떠났어요.)
The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.
(다음 날 아침, 도너츠 한판과 감사 카드가 꽂혀 있었지요.)
Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied,
'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the shop.
(다음 날에는 국회의원이 왔지요.이발사는 또 이번 주는 마을을 위해 자선봉사를 하고 있어 돈을 안 받겠다고했지요.
국회의원은 즐거운 맘으로 이발소를 떠났어요.)
The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.
(다음 날 아침 이발사가 출근하니 12명의 국회의원이 공짜 이발을 하기 위해 줄을 서 기다리고 있지 않았겠어요 ?)
And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.
(이 나라의 시민들과 정치인들의 근본적인 차이를 보여주는 것 같지 않나요 ?)
(이래서 정치인과 기저귀는 자주 바꿔 줄 필요가 있는가 봅니다.)
